Works on Paper
Highly accomplished artist, Peter Wegner, will teach a series of workshops, imparting his extensive knowledge about drawing, gouache and watercolour at our 2019 artists’ retreat.
Peter is a Melbourne based painter, sculptor and draughtsman. His numerous accomplishments include multiple-time finalist of the Archibald Prize and Dobell Prize for Drawing. His major prizes including the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Gallipoli Art Prize and Rick Amor Drawing Prize. He has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, among them at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, National Portrait Gallery, Australian National Gallery and the London Portrait Gallery. The plein air drawings by Lloyd Rees have been an influence on Peter: Rees’ drawings of the Italian landscapes in particular. Peter is passionate about drawing and his teaching stems from that passion. Workshops at the retreat will also include gouache, watercolour and mixed media.
You have an incredible opportunity to learn from one of the best in an inspiring location in stunning Tuscany. Besides that you get to focus solely on your art, in the company of fellow artists and everything else is taken care of for you.
Peter is represented by Australian Galleries.
