Imagine Artist Retreats provides an excellent opportunity for artists to focus on creating works in stunning, inspiring locations. Because we know many artists struggle to find the time and space to fully immerse in the creative process, we make that easy for you to do.

Escape the day to day routine for a while. Travel to a hidden haven shared with fellow artists. Join us at the retreat in a lovingly restored 17th century villa, nestled elegantly in the Apennine Mountains in Tuscany. This is a perfect location to take a slow, deep breath and soak up the inspiration. The setting is truly impressive.

Imagine Artist Retreats has exclusive use of Villa San Rocco.

Villa San Rocco is a fully functional, comfortable and welcoming private villa. Eight bedrooms are available. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated and has its own bathroom or en suite and stunning outlook across the village and the valley.

There are beautiful shared spaces like the gran salone, the frescoed sitting room, movie room plus outdoor seating areas. Certainly the terrazzo with its breathtaking views is a guest favourite.

The workshop adjoining the villa is a beautiful 14th century building full of charm and character. This serves as a great studio, workshop and exhibition space. Most importantly there are endless subjects and vistas to capture both in and immediately around the villa.

Area and Location

As you set foot outside, you will see the natural beauty of Tuscany all around you. There is no end of subjects to capture. Whether you choose to paint, draw, photograph or write, the richness of subjects abounds.

Take a short stroll in any direction and you will find endless mountain views and picturesque villages in the distance. The local village is full of character with its charming homes, cobbled paths and ancient churches. Oh, and there’s great coffee, authentic Italian food and good old fashioned hospitality in the nearby stores and restaurants. A visit down to Bagni di Lucca is a must for a total Italian experience – you’ll know exactly what we mean when you see it. If you’re up for it, you can even walk down to Bagni. The views along the way are well worth it.
